EXERCISES

1. Rebooted Plot Segmentation

Here is my plot segmentation for the lovely animation of Rebooted.

2. Mints Commercial Editing

The Mints Commercial was a simple stitching exercise of multiple video clips to form one complete commercial. it was pretty fun even though simple almost like forming a simple puzzle. Below is a screen recording of my process of bringing it together.

Here is my completed version of the exercise.

3. Doritos Commercial Editing

The second exercise is a Doritos Commercial which oe a side note, is extremely hilarious and drives the point home. It was pretty amazing.

So anyways, the Doritos commercial was slightly different whereby the parts were scrambled, so its almost like the rearranging exercises in kindergarten but a more upscaled version of it. I am not gonna lie, it got slightly confusing at the part where the husband was trying the different hand movements with the doritos as they were sort of repetitive, but managed to get the original version as a reference and stick it together.

Below is a screen recording of my attempt at this:

Here is the completed version of the doritos exercise :

4. Lalin Exercise

So, the Lalin Exercise was mainly about cropping and including the parts that you need. cropping out the unwanted parts such as the directors commands and so on. So, we learnt the input and output markers and it was overall pretty simple. Not too hard. It was pretty fun too, exploring non-linear timeline, where there are flashbacks and so on. We also learnt super basic effects like fade in and fade out.

Here is my completed exercise:

5. Lalin with Music

This was pretty fun, in the sense that it felt more complete with the paired audio. I chose the "Rebirth" as I felt it was the most appropriate and well suited. The emotion was slightly awry, but also a bit of a "self-discovery" kind of feel which I think paired well with the overall video.

6. Bar of Soap

This one here was slightly tougher as we were instructed to cut it off till 40seconds. Though I think some parts should've been left it for longer, its pretty interesting to see the judgement in a person as to which is an "important parts" and which isn't. It made me realise that, its actually also pretty interesting to note that sometimes parts that we consider to be an absolute necessity to be included Ito the final cut is actually not that important and we would be better off without it.
